Lesson 4

The Moon

We saw how the Sun moves around the Zodiac in Lesson 3, now we can  introduce the Moon and see how it interacts with the Sun over the course of a month, the moon is the fastest moving planet and moves 1 degree of an individual  Zodiac sign every 2 to 2.5 hours,  and complete a full circle of the Zodiac every 29.7 days. During this time the Moon will exert some of the Sun sign qualities it is passing through each sign, , Fiery in Aries, Comfort loving in Taurus, Communicative in Gemini and Home loving in cancer. etc. etc

 

The Moon follows a 4 part cycle each 29 days, passing through all of the 12 Sun signs each month, beginning with a New Moon, New Moons are times which corresponds to growth of all living things, most definitely the  the time to start new projects.

The Moon follows these 4 phases continually year in, year out, see the Full Moon Table for 2013

For example lets take the New Moon on November 3rd 2013, we have the Sun in Scorpio 11.3 degrees  and the Moon in 11.3 degrees  Scorpio. The Sun forms a conjunction of 0 degrees with the Moon. (Aspects Lesson 6) It is also worth noting the Sun being in Scorpio will adopt some of the Sun sign qualities of Scorpio as discussed in lesson 2, also the Moon in Scorpio will also adopt some of the qualities of  Scorpio. So quite an intense New Moon to look forward to.

Just over 7 days later on November 10th 2013,  the second phase of the Moon begins. The 1st Quarter, the Sun has moved to 18.00 degrees Scorpio and the Moon has travelled 3 signs to arrive at 18.0 degrees Aquarius. The 90 degree angle formed is called  Square. (Aspects Lesson 6) .

Just over 7 days later on November 17th 2013, The Full Moon arrives with the Sun at 25.4 degrees Scorpio and the Moon  has travelled another 3 signs to 25.4 Taurus, forming an Opposition of 180 degrees (Aspects Lesson 6) . the Sun still in the sign of Scorpio and Moon in Taurus.

Just over 8 days later on 25th November 2012,  we have the Last Quarter of the Moon. With the Sun now in 3.7 degrees Sagittarius and the Moon has travelled through 3 signs to arrive at 3.7 degrees Virgo. The 90 degree angle formed is called  Square. (Aspects Lesson 6) .
