The 12 houses of the Zodiac

The Zodiac can also be split into 12 Houses,  but only if an EXACT birthtime is known. If the birthtime is out by 15-30 minutes, reading a chart with houses is worthless and a waste of time.  But A chart can be set without Houses, with excellent results. The 12 House represent the areas of your life, the planets that fall within a house govern the affairs that rule that House. The 1st House is the Rising sign or commonly known as the Ascendant.  Your Ascendant is your second personality. These are commonly referred to in the Daily Horoscopes that you may have read.

Houses are rarely used in Financial Astrology as accuracy is paramount, and after all who can remember the exact time that the  currency of the US Dollar was minted in 1794...

The House can also explain why each of the 12 Star signs, can be subdivide again into another 12, giving possibility of 144 unique Sun signs with Ascendants.

The ascendant degree will change every minute depending on the time you were born. See table for rough Ascendant signs.

For example  If you was born on the 8th March 1997 in London, England. This would make you a Sun sign Pisces, but if you have an exact birthtime of 06.59am, this would make you Sun Sign Pisces Ascendant Aries,  AS  showing the Ascendant at  1.5 degrees Aries. Just 50 minutes later if you were born at 7.49am , this would make you a Sun sign Pisces Ascendant Taurus,.  the Ascendant now being at 0 degrees Taurus.
The Ascendant continues to move through the signs during the day making a Sun sign Pisces Ascendant Gemini, at 08.59am AS 0.5 Gemini.
Sun sign Pisces Ascendant Cancer,  at 10.49am AS 1.2  degrees Cancer
Sun sign Pisces Ascendant Leo, at 1.19pm  AS 0.8 degrees Leo
Sun sign Pisces Ascendant Virgo,  at 4.09pm AS 0.8 degrees Virgo
Sun sign Pisces Ascendant Libra,  at 6.59pm AS 0.8  degrees Libra
Sun sign Pisces Ascendant Scorpio, at 9.49pm AS 0.7 degrees Scorpio
Sun sign Pisces Ascendant Sagittarius,  on March 9th at 12.39am As 0.8 degrees Sagittarius
Sun sign Pisces Ascendant Capricorn, on March 9th at 3.09am AS 0.8 degrees Capricorn
Sun sign Pisces Ascendant Aquarius, on March 9th at 4.59am AS 2.7 degrees Aquarius.
Sun sign Pisces Ascendant  Pisces , on March 9th at 6.09am AS 4.7 degrees Pisces.
Sun sign Pisces Ascendant Aries , on March 9th at 6.59am, AS 3.9 degrees Aries.

The first example of a Sun Sign Pisces Ascendant Aries, you will notice that at 1.5 degrees Aries this denotes the 1st House, the 2nd House cusp being at 18.5 degrees Taurus, 3rd House Cusp at 12.4 degrees Gemini, 4th House cusp at 0.6 Cancer, 5th House cusp at 18.8 cancer, 6th House cusp at 13.2 Leo, 7th House cusp at 18.5 Scorpio, 9th House cusp at 12.4 degrees Sagitarius, 10th House cusp at 0.6 degrees Capricorn, 11th House at 18.8 degrees Capricorn, 12 House cusp at 13.2 degrees Aquarius.
The 12 Houses represent the areas of your life, the planets that fall within a house govern the affairs that rule that House. Planets that fall fall within one of the houses will adopt some of the following characteristics for each house.

The 12 Houses

1st House   The Rising sign and Ascendant,  Self motivation, wellbeing, the way you portray yourself to the world and how your are perceived. Associated to Aries qualities.

2nd House Self esteem, money, possessions,  net worth and how you acquire money and investments. Associated to Taurus Qualities

3rd House Short trips and commuting on buses and trains, all forms of communications, local neighbourhood, childhood education. Associated to Gemini qualities

4th House Home and family, how you adorn your home, real estate and the home decorations that you choose, also Lunar subconscious emotions. Associated with Cancer qualities.

5th House Parties, creativity, love affairs, gambling, social affairs, younger people, pleasure and entertaining. Associated with Leo qualities

6th House Health, diet, exercise, work and routines, working environment and meticulous attention to detail. Associated to Virgo qualities.

7th House  The Descendant Partnerships, relationships, relating one to one, marriage, business partners and enemies. Associated with Libra qualities

8th House Sex, Inheritance, joint resources, tax, police, death, intense encounters and sexuality. Associated with Scorpio.

9th House Higher education, philosophy,  long distance travel, religion, spiritual beliefs, and foreign languages. Associated with Sagittarius.

10th House Career and status and ambitions, authority figures and father figures, and  when to ask for that payrise!. Associated with Capricorn qualities.

11th House Groups, social networking, friends, teams and organisations and socialising. Associated with Aquarius qualities.

12th House Seclusion, stopping in, secret relationships, hidden talents,  fantasies and illusions, hospitals. Associated with Pisces qualities.
